About the role
- Conduct investigations for ensuring employer compliance with workers’ compensation coverage requirements
- Entering and inspecting places of business for compliance investigations
- Examining and copying business records
- Issuing, serving and enforcing stop-work orders, penalty assessment orders
- Conduct on-site inspections & complex investigations of various types of businesses
- Observe & document activities performed by workers onsite
- Interview workers to determine their employment status and wages
- Create and maintain investigative case files
- Timely enter case information in the Coverage and Compliance Automated System (CCAS)
Requirements
- Four (4) years of investigative or regulatory experience
- A post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle
- The ability to perform physical activities such as climbing stairs and/or walking on uneven/unlevel grounds in various outdoor weather conditions
- One (1) or more years of workers' compensation experience (preferences)
- One (1) or more years of experience writing detailed chronological reports (preferences)
- Two (2) or more years of experience conducting face-to-face fact-finding interviews (preferences)
- Bi-lingual with the ability to fluently speak and write Spanish and English (preferences)
