About the role

  • Directing section activities to ensure quality and efficiency of work performed.
  • Supervising personnel in case assignments, file review, performance appraisal, attendance and leave, training, and resolution of technical and administrative issues.
  • Ensuring adherence to the Forensic Science Quality Manual (FSQM), Laboratory Administrative Procedures Manual (LAPM), discipline SOPs, and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinating daily section operations and ensuring equitable workload distribution.
  • Fostering a collaborative work environment through open and effective communication.
  • Establishing performance standards and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Providing technical and administrative input to the Chief of Forensic Services.
  • Applying the Evidence Submission Policy and granting exceptions when appropriate.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in forensic science, criminalistics, or a physical or natural science.
  • Completion of an FDLE Crime Laboratory Analyst training program.
  • Three years of professional experience in a crime laboratory analyst class (or equivalent).
