About the role
- Directing section activities to ensure quality and efficiency of work performed.
- Supervising personnel in case assignments, file review, performance appraisal, attendance and leave, training, and resolution of technical and administrative issues.
- Ensuring adherence to the Forensic Science Quality Manual (FSQM), Laboratory Administrative Procedures Manual (LAPM), discipline SOPs, and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinating daily section operations and ensuring equitable workload distribution.
- Fostering a collaborative work environment through open and effective communication.
- Establishing performance standards and conducting performance appraisals.
- Providing technical and administrative input to the Chief of Forensic Services.
- Applying the Evidence Submission Policy and granting exceptions when appropriate.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in forensic science, criminalistics, or a physical or natural science.
- Completion of an FDLE Crime Laboratory Analyst training program.
- Three years of professional experience in a crime laboratory analyst class (or equivalent).
