About the role

  • Assist with the development and implementation of a project performance monitoring program.
  • Assist with the identification of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Monitor, assess and report project performance data.
  • Identify trends, performance issues, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Assist in managing Project Performance dashboard and reporting.
  • Assist with managing, monitoring and reporting for various Project Management programs including Errors and Omissions, Consultant Evaluations, Quality Assurance initiatives, and Scope of services, Staff Hour Guidelines and Staff Hour Forms.
  • Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) those programs, and assist with developing and managing associated websites, SharePoint sites, Teams pages, and any reporting dashboards.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) as required.
  • Support special projects by providing project management support to other project managers.
  • Serve as Project Manager on special projects when assigned, keeping management informed of project schedule, budget, issues and status.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of Project Management training programs to support Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project management activities for both in-house and consultant personnel.
  • Assist with the development, participation, and coordination of project management program activities in conferences, meetings, and trainings hosted by the Project Management and Performance Section and/or other FDOT offices.
  • Serve as backup to Statewide Administrator(s) of project management systems and programs.
  • Assist with responding to user questions and account issues, monitoring for system issues, and development of related training, tools, guidelines, help documents, and other resources, to inform and educate Department and consultant project managers on information related to project management systems and programs.

Requirements

  • Two years of work experience and a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Project Management concepts, principles and functions in the delivery of Transportation Systems.
  • Knowledge of basic training methods, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of engineering and design standards, concepts, principles, and terminology in the delivery of Transportation Systems (from Planning through Maintenance).
  • Knowledge of Department’s production process for developing and delivering the Work Program.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for the collection, evaluation and presentation of data, procedures and training materials.
  • Ability to manage programs.
  • Ability to develop technical scope of services and staff hour estimates, negotiate staff hours, and manage a contract.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals as well as groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various personnel inside and outside of the Department.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams either as a participant, facilitator or leader.
  • Ability to identify training needs and prepare a training plan.
  • Ability to develop, assess and present quality training materials, and analyze training evaluations.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, schedule resources effectively, plan, organize, manage and prioritize multiple work assignments, manage time, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to and support various needs of the Project Management and Performance Section and the Office of Forecasting and Performance.
