About the role
- perform basic audits to determine tax compliance as it relates to sales and use tax, limited scope audits, or reemployment tax audits.
- examine and analyze accounting systems of taxpayers.
- compute tax assessments or refund adjustments.
- prepare detailed reports of audit results.
- participate in or independently conduct conferences with taxpayers or taxpayers' representatives.
Requirements
- Two years of bookkeeping experience.
- 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from an accredited college or university with at least two courses in accounting can substitute for the required experience.
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with two accounting classes can substitute for the required experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Two college level accounting classes.
- One year of payroll experience.
- One year of accounting experience that includes tasks such as preparing income statement/PL reports, balance statements, wage reports, budget reports, or QuickBooks reports.
- Presentation or training experience in the college or work setting.
