About the role
- Deliver public health services across multiple program areas including School Health, Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Immunizations, Ryan White, Tuberculosis, and the Florida Breast and Cervical Early Detection Program
- Provide direct client care, health education, and case management in accordance with Florida Department of Health protocols and public health nursing standards
- Administer age-appropriate vaccines to children and adults
- Conduct immunization outreach and education in community settings
- Maintain accurate vaccine inventory and documentation in Florida SHOTS
- Perform health screenings (vision, hearing)
- Conduct STI screenings, treatment, education, and follow-up per CDC guidelines
- Provide contraceptive counseling and FP services
- Educate clients on cancer prevention and early detection
- Assist in maintenance of clinical areas including prepping exam rooms and inventory
Requirements
- Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes
- Maintain a current Basic Life Support CPR With AED (BLS) certification
- Valid Florida Driver License and motor vehicle
- Knowledge of public health nursing principles and program-specific protocols
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office
