About the role
- Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.) of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures
- Leads and motivates a varied bureau comprised mostly of reviewers of technical licensing requirements
- Directs all administrative, programmatic and operational activities of the bureau
- Maintains current operational procedures and processes to ensure accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures
- Responsible for efficient, accountable management of budget and resources of assigned programs
- Oversees the bureau’s relationships with quality assurance auditors, the administrative informal hearing officer supervisor, administrative investigations team, general counsel, OGC attorneys and outside attorneys
- Provides technical expertise on the bureau’s processes, reports and databases
- Provides legal and programmatic assistance regarding administrative investigations, informal and formal hearings and appeals
- Frequently represents the Assistant Director and/or Director at departmental, industry council, and tax collector meetings
Requirements
- A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university; and current Florida bar membership in good standing with continuing membership of five (5) years or more
- Five years of experience in administrative and criminal law
- Three (3) years in a supervisory capacity overseeing both legal and non-legal professionals
- Effective public speaking/advocacy and knowledge of the division’s processes and legal requirements
