About the role
- Work as part of a team developing applications and components using Agile methodologies.
- Review and understand documented business requirements and technical specifications.
- Use no-code, low-code tools including Oracle APEX to develop and test applications.
- Develop and test multi-tier database-driven Java applications and components.
- Develop web solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks, and other tools.
- Design, configure, and use ETL tools and process to analyze, manipulate, and integrate data.
- Define and complete unit and system level testing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Work as part of a team on user acceptance tests.
- Work as part of a team on production deployments.
- Provide support for assigned production systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to members of the Lottery staff.
- Learn about the Lottery’s system business operations.
- Develop and grow relevant technical expertise and skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Up to four (4) years of application development experience.
- Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required).
- Knowledge of modern information systems concepts and terminology.
- Knowledge of software engineering life cycle methodologies.
- Knowledge of programming languages, JAVA preferred.
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and techniques.
- Knowledge of data feeds and data parsing using various XML technologies and SQL.
- Experience with systems analysis and design.
- Experience with full stack development, Java, Oracle and PL/SQL preferred.
- Experience developing technical documentation, specifications, and reports.
- Ability to learn, use, understand, and integrate new software and hardware technologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively to non-technical staff and management.
- Ability to think logically and to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and define user system needs.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
