About the role

  • Work as part of a team developing applications and components using Agile methodologies.
  • Review and understand documented business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Use no-code, low-code tools including Oracle APEX to develop and test applications.
  • Develop and test multi-tier database-driven Java applications and components.
  • Develop web solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks, and other tools.
  • Design, configure, and use ETL tools and process to analyze, manipulate, and integrate data.
  • Define and complete unit and system level testing.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work as part of a team on user acceptance tests.
  • Work as part of a team on production deployments.
  • Provide support for assigned production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to members of the Lottery staff.
  • Learn about the Lottery’s system business operations.
  • Develop and grow relevant technical expertise and skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
  • Up to four (4) years of application development experience.
  • Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required).
  • Knowledge of modern information systems concepts and terminology.
  • Knowledge of software engineering life cycle methodologies.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, JAVA preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of data feeds and data parsing using various XML technologies and SQL.
  • Experience with systems analysis and design.
  • Experience with full stack development, Java, Oracle and PL/SQL preferred.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, specifications, and reports.
  • Ability to learn, use, understand, and integrate new software and hardware technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to non-technical staff and management.
  • Ability to think logically and to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and define user system needs.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
