About the role

  • Delnor Wiggins Pass State Park is looking for a self-motivated park service professional to fill an Administrative Assistant I position.
  • The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the operational and financial functions of four Florida State Parks.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, manage fiscal and purchasing activities, support concession and property management, and provide administrative and visitor services.
  • Assist park manager in planning, coordinating and implementing all administrative activities for required accounting procedures.
  • Process invoices, MFMP requisitions and P card transactions.
  • Provides oversight of concessions contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Serve as the unit’s Fleet Coordinator, entering vehicle logs and managing requests for employee P-Cards.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files.
  • Manage the unit’s Property Tracking Program, conduct annual inventory, and process documentation for the acquisition and disposition of state property.
  • Provide information to park visitors regarding facilities and services.
  • Oversee tollbooth operations and provide guidance to other employees.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Drivers’ License.
  • Knowledge of good public relations.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting.
