About the role
- This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities, including communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees
- The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews
- Assisting the Environmental Administrator in the development and supervision of one comprehensive Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System (OSTDS) Program
- Position exercises independent judgment in the formulation of policies and procedures, which have significant impact in all facets of the OSTDS program
- Directs and supervises Environmental Specialist II and III field staff in the OSTDS program in all aspects of their work performance, including planning workloads, workflows, time management/utilization and work objectives
- Responsible for the regulation, permitting and inspecting of six regulated industries within the OSTDS Program
Requirements
- Minimum A valid driver’s license, free of major infractions, and the ability to use your own vehicle
- At least five years’ experience working in the field of Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems
- Certified in OSTDS to perform environmental health or sanitary evaluations as indicated in Chapter 64E-18
- Willing and able to work outside in the elements which may include extreme heat or cold
- At least three years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory position
