About the role
- Direct, plan and oversee the operations, maintenance and safety of District 5 facilities and grounds
- Responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, and capital improvement initiatives
- Ensures facilities are safe, efficient, accessible, and compliant with OSHA, ADA, and local regulations
- Supervises and develops staff; manages contracts, vendors, and fixed capital outlay (FCO) projects
- Oversees facility services including security, life safety, mail and reprographics, cafeteria and vending, recycling, energy conservation, and record retention programs
- Manages budgets, reporting requirements, and long-term facility assessments to support operational needs and future growth
Requirements
- Knowledge of budget development and management process
- Knowledge of contract development and management
- Knowledge of My Florida Market Place (MFMP), Contract Funds Management System (CFM), Florida Accounting Contract Tracking System (FACTS), State Owned Lands and Records Information System/Facility Inventory Tracking System (SOLARIS/FITS) and Facilities Information Reporting and Management System (FIRM)
- Knowledge of Department of Management Service (DMS) Construction and Real Property Management Requirements
- Skills at supervising staff
- Skills in using standard office computers, equipment and software
- Ability to develop a variety of reports
- Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and in writing
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to manage internal and external customers
- Ability to utilize effective time management skills
- Ability to process information and make decisions
- Ability to manage facility, mail center and motor pool operations
