About the role
- Serves as a member of the Department’s leadership team.
- Responsible for operational, technical, legislative, and procedural issues related to the communications services tax, estate tax, and gross receipts tax.
- Participates in legislative matters, including concept development, review of draft legislation, and implementation of legislation that has passed.
- Serves as the business champion for major communication efforts, such as the publication of bulletins, forms, and instructions to keep taxpayers informed of law changes.
- Responds to questions and inquiries related to CST, estate tax, and gross receipts tax.
Requirements
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Five years of experience working with taxes administered by the General Tax Administration Program.
- Two years of experience as a lead worker or supervisor.
- Experience writing, editing, and proofing Department of Revenue publications or communications.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience working with taxes administered by the General Tax Administration Program.
