About the role
- Responsible for operational, technical, legislative, and procedural issues related to the communications services tax (CST), estate tax, and gross receipts tax
- Participate in legislative matters, including concept development, review of draft legislation, and implementation of legislation that has passed
- Serve as the business champion for major communication efforts, such as the publication of bulletins, forms, and instructions to keep taxpayers informed of law changes
- Respond to questions and inquiries related to CST, estate tax, and gross receipts tax
Requirements
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue
- Five years of experience working with taxes administered by the General Tax Administration Program
- Two years of experience as a lead worker or supervisor
- Experience writing, editing, and proofing Department of Revenue publications or communications
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience working with taxes administered by the General Tax Administration Program
