About the role
- Communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees

- Maintaining vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and completing timesheets
- Supervising two Accountant I in the Administrative Services Unit
- Providing assistance in analyzing, planning and researching various administrative matters
- Overseeing and assisting the inputting of data for collections from daily bank deposits into FLAIR
- Reconciling collections against what is actually deposited from State of Florida Treasury Cash Management System
- Monitoring, preparing invoices and verifying submission of payments on Federal Contracts and any other Revenue generated contract
- Overseeing and assisting in maintaining the State-owned property/inventory in the Asset Manager System
- Compiling monthly and annual reports of revenue collected and reconciles with Bureau of Revenue Management Trust Fund
- Verifying journal transfer payments and records on computerized revenue ledgers.
- Assisting Administrator in preparation of Legislative and Operating Budget
Requirements
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection
- Ability to supervise people
- Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to prepare financial statements and reports
- Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Ability and Skill in Computer Concepts
- Knowledge and experience in State contracted computer programs (Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook).
