About the role

  • Receive, receipt and deposit currency collected by the division.
  • Verify checks/EFTs to monthly reports.
  • Receives and maintains cigarette tax indicia.
  • Processes the sale of cigarette tax indicia, including the preparation of required documents and reports.
  • Examines and audits purchase and sales documents including receipts, invoices, business records, and related accounting records to verify accuracy of sales of product to recipients in Florida and to determine tax liabilities.
  • Identifies, collects data, and analyzes business transactions between entities.
  • Prepares and submits technical audit reports to supervisor detailing all tax liabilities found and the basis for those liabilities.
  • Answer or direct inquiries from visitors and incoming calls to a qualified agency employee.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of one year of professional auditing or accounting experience.
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida driver’s license no later than the date of appointment.
  • Must be willing to use personal vehicle to conduct job assignments.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in accounting or an area of business which includes five courses in accounting.
