About the role

  • Planning, directing and administering all activities necessary for the effective operation of the Community Violence Division of the Administrative Office of the Courts in Pinellas County.
  • Establishing policies and procedures for operational planning in accordance with established laws, rules and regulations.
  • Close coordination with the strategic aims of the court.
  • Analyzing and solving administrative problems, assigning and reviewing the work of subordinates.
  • Participating directly in the operational tasks supporting the court divisions, including appearing in court as necessary.
  • Work is assigned in broad terms through conferences with the Director of Administrative Services, Trial Courts Administrator, Chief Judge, or Administrative Judge(s) and is reviewed for results obtained.
  • Work is coordinated with the Family Law Case Management Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college with major course work in public or business administration or a related field.
  • Five years professional level management or administrative experience including three years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of family law and domestic violence issues preferred.
  • Juris doctorate may substitute for up to three years of related experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Florida Court System.
  • Working knowledge of family law statutes, rules and case law.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of grant writing and budgeting principles.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics, case management, and automation systems.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Ability to research matters, analyze policy and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience in dealing with the public, social agencies, and government agencies.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, impartiality, and honesty in handling matters before the court.
