About the role
- Implements and enforces all laws, rules, operating policies, leases, agreements, and permits pertaining to this area
- Provides for employee selection, training, supervision, and discipline
- Prepares multi-fund budget requests and supervises financial management
- Implements and supervises interpretive programs and meets the public
- Works cooperatively with governmental agencies and community service groups
- Implements and guides the resource management plan for park units
- Ensures the parks’ natural and cultural resources are managed
- Identifies and plans maintenance needs for park facilities
- Ensures park rules are enforced for the enjoyment of visitors
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Successfully complete a background check
- Knowledge of Natural resource management practices
- Knowledge of Florida Park Service Operations Manual
- Skill in personnel management
- Ability to understand and apply appropriate resource management practices
- Ability to conduct routine inspections
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
