About the role
- Manage the supervision, administration, and resolution of operational and management problems as they relate to the activities of the Firearm Eligibility System (FES) within the Firearm Purchase Program (FPP)
- Provide management consultant services to the Division, Department, and other agencies to improve operations and ensure efficient and effective accomplishments of agency objectives
- Provide technical guidance regarding the FES to ensure continuity of operations and compliance with state and federal laws
- Conduct state and national criminal history record checks to determine eligibility to purchase/transfer a firearm in Florida
- Monitor FES system and work volumes and make adjustments as needed
- Prepare program user specifications and assist programming staff with data requirements
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in management or in a leadership capacity
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system
- Knowledge of methods of data collection
- Ability to compile and analyze data, related to the development of training programs
- Ability to coordinate research
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
- Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, procedures related to the development of training programs
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete work assignments
