About the role
- This is a highly professional position within the HIV section.
- The incumbent shall help slow the spread of HIV through prevention efforts such as education, counseling, testing, contact interviewing.
- Perform HIV pre and post-test counseling throughout the Alachua County Health Department system and other clinics as assigned, according to CDC and FDOH guidelines.
- Elicit information to coordinate investigations of other persons at risk.
- Ensure all clients are linked to care as needed.
- Provide support, comfort, and care to those living with HIV and STDs whenever possible.
- Complete all electronical medical record documentation.
- Maintain appropriate database logs, records, and documents to prepare timely reports.
- Serve as a PrEP co-coordinator and promote, educate, counsel, and link clients to PrEP services.
- Conduct rapid Testing for Proof of Status as needed.
- Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
- Maintain Inventory Control and distribution of prevention supplies including testing supplies, condoms, and educational materials.
Requirements
- Driver’s License
- Must have completed or complete (within 2 months of hire) and maintain certificate in the Department of Healths 501 program.
- Experience working with HIV/STD programs.
