Executive Assistant

• Represent the state in capital collateral litigation prosecuting first-degree murder cases where the death penalty has been imposed.
• Serve as the lead counsel or co-counsel in the state circuit courts and Florida Supreme Court.
• Represent the state in habeas actions in federal district courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
• Handle lead chair responsibility for any active death warrant.
• Attend evidentiary hearings at all post-conviction and appellate stages, research, preparation of briefs, motions, and other functions directly related to appeals.
• Handle emergency circumstances such as preparing pleadings and appearing in court, including during the pendency of an active death warrant.
• Maintain familiarity with all state and federal decisions impacting capital cases and assist prosecutors in first-degree homicide cases throughout the state.
