About the role

  • Officers will provide and ensure the safety and security of the residents and staff.
  • Monitoring the ingress and egress of people, vehicles, and objects within the secure area.
  • Conduct pat-down searches and observe Forensic residents to deter inappropriate actions.
  • Routinely conduct mobile patrols of the institutional campus and surrounding areas.
  • Walking patrols throughout the buildings and grounds of the campus.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be a high school graduate or its "equivalent".
  • Not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement.
  • Have his/her processed fingerprints on file with the employing agency.
  • Have passed a physical examination by a licensed physician.
  • Have a good moral character as determined by a background investigation.
  • Have completed a 320-hour basic recruit training course or its equivalent as established by the Commission.
