About the role

  • Collecting, evaluating, analyzing and producing intelligence on crime trends and threats to Florida
  • Researching and collecting information on domestic security and criminal activity
  • Preparing analytical briefs and assessments based on analysis
  • Presenting analytical findings through various formats
  • Maintaining liaison with law enforcement agencies for information sharing
  • Writing clear and concise reports and documents
  • Attending intelligence unit meetings and providing support

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or in a law enforcement agency
  • Five years of experience for Crime Intelligence Analyst II
  • Seven years of analytical experience for Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst I
  • Nine years of analytical experience for Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of experience
  • Master's degree in relevant fields can substitute for one year of experience
  • Completion of a vocational/technical school program in law enforcement can substitute for one year of experience
