About the role

  • Conducts research, develops, and implements educational programs with primary emphasis on training staff to administer and improve the VOCA program.
  • Assists in the research and development of written guidelines and procedures for Grant Unit Projects.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Advocacy Unit to coordinate VOCA funding initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with VOCA subgrantees to coordinate and provide assistance with necessary public training related to VOCA funding.
  • Coordinate and deliver training to the public and VOCA subgrantees regarding VOCA processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Complete special assignments and perform related duties as assigned.
  • These duties may involve extended work hours and travel outside the work site.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of professional or technical experience in areas such as training, analyzing, developing and measuring instructional training programs, teaching, curriculum development, staff development, research, program evaluation, personnel or criminal justice, or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional or technical experience as described above.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional or technical experience as described above.
  • A juris doctorate or doctorate from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional or technical experience as described above.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with training experience; knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required;
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate information,
  • Ability to conduct public presentations,
  • Ability to efficiently multitask in a busy work environment,
  • Problem solve,
  • Work independently, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of research methods and theory.
  • Must have the ability to understand and apply applicable protocols, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
