Testing key controls across Operations, covering customer servicing, financial assistance, onboarding, payments, financial crime checks, and complaints.
Checking how controls are designed and how effectively they operate day to day.
Documenting testing outcomes clearly and consistently, ensuring findings are evidence-based and accurate.
Identifying weaknesses or gaps in control design or execution, raising issues promptly.
Supporting risk and control owners in tracking and implementing remediation.
Feeding insights into risk and control reporting and the RCSA process.
Maintaining awareness of regulatory requirements and operational risks relevant to retail banking.
Suggesting improvements to testing methods and helping embed best practice within the team.
Requirements
2–3 years’ experience in control testing, risk, assurance, monitoring, or audit, ideally within retail banking.
Good knowledge of retail banking operations, products, and related risks (customer outcomes, consumer duty, payments, financial crime).
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Confidence to test, challenge, and escalate when something doesn’t look right.
Clear communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
A real interest in how digital banking operations work and how we can keep improving them.
