About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the award-winning Android app and internal tooling
- Build new features and products from scratch in a configurable way
- Share knowledge and contribute to the learning culture
- Own projects and collaborate in small teams across the bank
- Provide project insight to team leads and make necessary project decisions
- Commit, review, and ship new code from the first week
- Improve and develop the Android app, CI automations, and tooling
- Build SDKs for international banking clients
- Work with designers on the Android component library and themed app
- Collaborate with iOS engineers to maintain feature parity
- Attend weekly team meetings to discuss pain points and project improvements
- Attend conferences and meet-ups with the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to understand and prioritise security across all application layers
- Focus on accessibility
- Ability to write clean and maintainable code
- Self-driven approach and ownership of code, shipping, maintenance, and processes
- Experience or understanding of Android libraries and technologies including Dagger, Realm, Retrofit, Coil, Compose, Coroutines, XML layouts, and RxJava2
- Experience with Espresso for UI/E2E testing
- Experience with JUnit for unit testing
- Ability to manually test features before production
- Ability to work closely with QA engineers on complex feature delivery
- Understanding of a wide range of Android libraries and technologies
- Experience maintaining a library, contributing to open-source software, or working with internationalisation is desirable but not required
- Willingness to collaborate across teams and share knowledge
