About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- This is a senior technical role covering the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through deployment, along with system support, compliance, and mentorship of junior team members.
- The Senior Software Engineer IV will own architecture, design, and engineering of core STARLIMS software building user-facing applications, business rules, data management logic, and embedded system control components.
- This role will play a key role in modernizing the technology stack to support continued product innovation, scalability, and long-term growth.
- Partner with the technical manager to engineer customer-driven solutions.
- Provide day-to-day support and resolve operational issues. Maintain installation and operating procedures for complex, multi-system environments.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with strong SQL capabilities and programming fundamentals.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline (e.g., Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering), or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) management, validation and qualification, and administration of regulated applications.
- Experience with change management (data and configuration), system and network security, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to produce SDLC documentation, installation instructions, change requests, test protocols, and training materials.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with Business Analysts, Software Developers, and customers.
