About the role
- Support and improve the processes that enable accurate and timely payment of our 250,000+ partners across the United States and Canada.
- Demonstrate courage and vision by confidently advocating for forward‑thinking improvements and innovative solutions that continuously enhance and modernize the payroll department.
- Support the payroll team with weekly payroll processing.
- Help analyze and resolve complex payroll issues.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing with team members.
- Contribute to the development and adherence to best practices.
- Support ongoing technology enhancements.
- Identify areas that need to be monitored or analyzed on a consistent basis.
- Anticipate and prepare for potential issues and recommend resolutions.
- Report payroll processing and system issues as appropriate and assist with troubleshooting.
- Support management in accomplishing the organization’s payroll processing objectives and will serve as a “change agent” to promote best practices and technological advancements.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Lead cross-functional teams in resolving process concerns and developing new processes.
- Maintain process documentation, validating policies and procedures against State and Provincial laws.
- Participate in periodic internal auditing of key responsibilities.
Requirements
- Multi-state/Provincial full cycle payroll processing, including time entry to general ledger entry.
- Foundational understanding of payroll including garnishments, bonus payments, special payments and payroll taxes for US (required) and Canada (preferred).
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in payroll systems (specifically SAP, Success Factors), Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail and execution with the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology and ability to identify, evaluate and support process improvements.
- Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions.
- Ability to mentor and train peers, payroll analyst associates and payroll analysts.
