About the role

  • Analyze transportation and logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings
  • Execute daily shipment planning and execution of tasks aligned with the operational workflow and service expectations of the role
  • Collaborate with carriers, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
  • Participate in a rotational weekend on-call schedule to support transportation operations and ensure business continuity
  • Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders on shipment or vendor issues
  • Support cross-functional projects to enhance company performance
  • Lead initiatives to optimize routing, mode selection, and carrier performance
  • Support strategic planning, including network design, freight forecasting, and budget development
  • Manage freight payment and manual invoice processes
  • Analyze carrier and vendor performance to identify service gaps and recommend improvements
  • Report on key performance indicators (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data from vendors and third-party providers
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support KPI improvement initiatives
  • Provide support for transportation carrier selections from annual RFPs and mini-bids
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transportation operations
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership with actionable insights and recommendations
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation analysis, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations
  • A team-oriented, collaborative approach
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Incorta, SQL, Tableau)
  • Knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel) and carrier management
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Analytics or a related field (preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience with TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle)
  • Experience in a high-volume, multi-modal transportation environment
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Project management of small- and medium-scale technical and change management initiatives
  • Certification in transportation or supply chain (e.g., CTL, APICS, PMP) (preferred)
