About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute and deliver well-coordinated project documents as a project architect on time.
Manage a team in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings.
Manage a group of architectural staff, leading project meetings, and coordinating all other building disciplines (in-house and external) on multi-disciplinary projects.
Mentor architectural staff.
Be the architectural technical lead and performing internal reviews and quality checks of the models and drawings to ensure completeness and compliance with design criteria and codes as well as manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
Provide technical and administrative oversight to ensure that both the internal and external client needs are met and that the projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets.
Manage the financial aspect of the project including planning, scheduling, forecasting and staffing and working with accounting to achieve the desired results.
Be the client’s trusted partner to provide technical knowledge of codes and standards, building systems, and materials.
Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
Utilize BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details, specifications, etc.
Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Licensed architects, in the State of Washington.
Minimum 15 years of experience as a project architect.
Familiar with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), State of WA building codes, and International Building Codes.
Capable of managing a team in producing architectural design solutions, construction drawings and technical specifications.
Capable of leading design-build and design-bid-build project delivery method.
Strong knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
Capable of leading client project requirement meetings, value analysis, basic cost estimating, and constructability reviews.
Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
Ability to communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written).
Ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively while working remotely.
Strong presentation and interview skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, Bluebeam Studio, and BIM 360.
