About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Use knowledge of the general concepts of civil, transportation, and traffic engineering
- Assist in the development and design of traffic engineering projects
- Assist in preparing project plans and drawings for various highway and roadway traffic projects
- Perform traffic signal designs, signal timing, ITS planning and design, signing and pavement marking, illumination, roadway, sidewalk, and ADA ramp planning and design, and other related traffic/transportation engineering work
- Assist in the preparation of plans and reports for relevant project design elements under the guidance and supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
- Responsible for preparing and coordinating technical activities on assigned projects
- Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) minimum
- EIT certification in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months is required
- Internship or engineering experience is a plus
- Basic experience using Microstation, AutoCAD and any other relevant design software; Experience with OpenRoads Designer is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
- Developing organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule; Experience handling multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting
- Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various exhibits
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
