About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage architectural projects through all phases of design, documentation, construction administration, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, interior designers, specialty consultants, contractors, and owner representatives.
  • Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and project financial performance.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure project goals, expectations, and deliverables are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Principals-in-Charge in project planning, client presentations, proposal development, and interview preparation.
  • Lead project coordination meetings, consultant meetings, owner meetings, and construction progress meetings.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget while proactively identifying and resolving project challenges.
  • Manage project contracts, additional services, change orders, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, applications for payment, and other construction administration activities.
  • Review project documents for technical accuracy and participate in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Stantec's Project Management Framework, quality standards, and project documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate staffing needs with Practice Leadership and Operations to support successful project delivery.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and emerging professionals by providing guidance, coaching, and technical leadership.
  • Keep the Principal-in-Charge informed of project progress, financial performance, client feedback, and project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposal preparation, interviews, and relationship-building activities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience managing architectural projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and financial management.
  • Excellent knowledge of building systems, construction methods, accessibility requirements, life safety codes, and applicable building codes.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and complex project deliverables.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse project teams.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to proactively resolve project issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Newforma. Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, and project management software is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Registered Architect (RA) preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible architectural experience, including project management responsibilities.
  • Experience managing higher education, civic, healthcare, workplace, science and technology, or other complex institutional projects is preferred.
  • Experience with construction administration and consultant coordination is highly desirable.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is preferred.
