About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with identifying environmental issues and providing overall support to environmental and engineering staff
- Maintain effective communication with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to collect information and help identify, respond to, and address issues
- Interact professionally with Indigenous communities, clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and other stakeholders
- Assist with preparing and coordinating public, regulatory agency, and Indigenous community consultation programs, including maintaining thorough correspondence records
- Help ensure environmental and consultation processes are followed and documented in accordance with applicable environmental legislation and project requirements
- Support the preparation of environmental documentation and reports, meeting materials, meeting minutes, and presentations within required timelines
- Attend virtual and/or in-person public meetings and document meeting activities, comments, and outcomes
- Participate in both team-based and independent work assignments
- Follow quality assurance/quality control and health and safety requirements
- Travel as required, estimated at approximately 10%, for site visits, client meetings, and public consultation events
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree or college diploma in environmental studies, planning, geography, environmental science, or a related field
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to contribute as a collaborative team member and take a proactive approach to assignments
- Demonstrated interest in environmental assessment planning and infrastructure projects
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage tasks and support project coordination
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
