About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the technical lead for preparing civil engineering design documents
- Prepare and revise documentation from feasibility analysis to construction closeout
- Coordinate with geomatics team for accurate record data
- Prepare concept design alternatives
- Prepare three-dimensional models of civil systems
- Participate in coordination meetings with team members and external consultants
- Prepare construction quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis
- Assist in developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule
- Lead preparation and coordination of project specifications and construction documents
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects
- Process project documentation to approval and permit availability
- Work with team to prioritize workload and schedule on multiple projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Minimum 8 years of experience
- Experience with land development projects in location area county markets
- Knowledge of agency and industry applicable codes
- General understanding of project document production phases
- Strong knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards
- Ability to discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies
- Excellent time-management skills
- Understanding of task assignment and schedule
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to participate in project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought
- Mentor and lead other design team members
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, hydrology and hydraulic programs)
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
