About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work independently and as a team member on a wide range of land development projects.
Perform a variety of tasks which may include analysis, calculations, preparation of exhibits, and construction documents.
Proficiency in preparing, grading, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents.
Utilize technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
Prepare construction items quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
Assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
May lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
Perform and oversee the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Utilize advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements.
Participate in constructability reviews.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
Work on multiple projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with land development projects in Ventura and/or Los Angeles county markets.
Requisite knowledge and application of agency and industry applicable codes.
General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
Possesses excellent time-management skills.
Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, etc.)
This position will require the successful passing of an AutoCADD Evaluation
Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
