Architectural Designer
StantecArchitectural Designer in a Top 10 global design firm specializing in architecture and building engineering. Collaborating on projects in commercial, industrial, healthcare, and technology sectors.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Keeps the Project Manager informed of progress on expectations, deadlines, and deliverables that fall within their responsibility
- Participate in team meetings, charrettes and coordination sessions
- Assists in monitoring and coordination of consultant work and deadlines
- Assist project teams in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats
- Utilize Autodesk Revit and other BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components
- Prepare and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details
- Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent
- Assist in contract administration tasks
- Attend project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants
- Implement sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment
- Assist in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedents
Requirements
What you’ll need- Capable of simultaneously supporting multiple Project Managers on multiple projects
- General understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards
- Comfortable working independently and takes direction well, however, proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction
- Manages multiple deadlines and priorities
- Team player with the client, entire project team and contractor
- Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, InDesign and Photoshop; Prefer experience with Enscape, SketchUP, Newforma
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- 3-7 years of experience
- LEED Green Associate or LEED AP desired but not required
