About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support engineering teams on large infrastructure design projects in the NYC Metropolitan area.
Develop project design deliverables including design criteria, contract design documents, and specifications.
Perform calculations independently using relevant analysis and design software.
Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and materials.
Help resolve complex technical problems and exercise independent decision making.
Perform construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record.
Mentor and monitor work by Structural Designers.
Assist with engineering duties on various complexity projects.
Attend client/contractor/stakeholder meetings to understand client goals.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Licensed Professional Engineer license in the State of NY.
Proficiency in software such as STAAD, SAP, RISA, PCA Structure Point Suite, and similar.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, OpenBuildings and/Autodesk Construction Cloud, and MicroStation.
Proficient knowledge of structural design codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design.
