About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- We’re seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to join our high-performing, collaborative, marketing leadership team.
- Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing, North America, you will lead marketing and promotions for Stantec’s Energy & Resources and Environmental Services business operating units (BOUs) across North America.
- As a trusted strategic partner to business and regional leaders, you’ll align marketing and promotion strategies with business priorities.
- Help position Stantec for growth, amplify our brand, and tell compelling stories about the impact of our work.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of marketing strategists, promotions specialists, visual communications designers and digital content professionals.
- Build a resilient, future-ready team through thoughtful resource planning, professional development, and succession planning.
- Establish and track clear performance metrics to ensure accountability, insight-driven decision-making, and organizational excellence.
- Manage budgets and workforce planning with a strategic lens.
- Foster open communication and collaboration across teams.
Requirements

- Strong strategic and stakeholder partnership skills, paired with the ability to listen, influence, and align.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing creative, effective marketing and communications strategies at scale.
- A deep understanding of marketing, branding, and promotion best practices, paired with a passion for continuous improvement
- Brings a strategic focus to process optimization, confidently driving decisions and improvements that enhance efficiency and elevate organizational performance.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to inspire through clear and compelling storytelling.
- Adaptability and resilience, thriving amid change and helping others navigate it with confidence.
- Experience using standard marketing tools.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 5 years in a people leadership role.
