About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Performs structural marine and waterfront engineering assignments that are broad and varied in nature
  • Performs and oversees engineering planning and design assignments at key stages of projects
  • Oversees technical work, provides technical guidance and mentoring of entry- and intermediate-level engineers
  • Analyzes complex problems and proposes new alternative solutions
  • Leads the preparation and coordination of project deliverables including contract documents
  • Responsible for the review and sealing of contract deliverables
  • Performs independent technical and quality reviews
  • Ensures Stantec’s engineering and design procedures and guidelines are consistently applied on projects
  • Coordinates with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals
  • Responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant structural marine and waterfront structures experience
  • Highly skilled in technical and functional aspects of the role
  • Proven ability in staff supervision and leadership
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel frequently within the New England area
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in one New England state with ability to obtain licensure in other states within 6 months
  • Experience with engineering design tools such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, Microsoft Project, CSiBridge, Shoring Suite, and Optimoor
  • Prior experience with US Federal agency engineering and construction projects or similar port and marine transportation entities is a plus
