About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs structural marine and waterfront engineering assignments that are broad and varied in nature
- Performs and oversees engineering planning and design assignments at key stages of projects
- Oversees technical work, provides technical guidance and mentoring of entry- and intermediate-level engineers
- Analyzes complex problems and proposes new alternative solutions
- Leads the preparation and coordination of project deliverables including contract documents
- Responsible for the review and sealing of contract deliverables
- Performs independent technical and quality reviews
- Ensures Stantec’s engineering and design procedures and guidelines are consistently applied on projects
- Coordinates with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals
- Responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of ten years of relevant structural marine and waterfront structures experience
- Highly skilled in technical and functional aspects of the role
- Proven ability in staff supervision and leadership
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel frequently within the New England area
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in one New England state with ability to obtain licensure in other states within 6 months
- Experience with engineering design tools such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, Microsoft Project, CSiBridge, Shoring Suite, and Optimoor
- Prior experience with US Federal agency engineering and construction projects or similar port and marine transportation entities is a plus
