About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform civil engineering design which may include engineering drawings, hydraulic system calculations, pipe design calculations, grading design, condition assessment, engineering reports, design criteria, and prepare applications for regulatory agencies
- Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables
- Attend and assist in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client’s goals, project requirements, site assessments, key challenges, coordination
- Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- General understanding of concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering design, including gravity and pressure systems, survey, storm water/drainage design, road design, erosion and sediment control, and grading
- Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
- Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as relevant discipline software programs
- Knowledge and skill with AutoCAD and Civil3D is considered an asset
