About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive engineering drawings and documentation for a wide range of building projects.
Lead the design of plumbing and piping systems—including domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, medical gases, and specialty systems—while ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with consultants and contractors.
Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
Maintain the high level of quality and consistency expected within our engineering practice.
Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings and prepare green rating system documentation.
Deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, design build.
Process contractor submittals and RFIs.
Perform on-site condition surveys.
Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry.
Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents and ensure integrated design approaches & solutions.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on projects related to Government, Healthcare, Higher Education and Science & Technology.
Maintain strong client relations as it pertains to project delivery and repeat business.
Perform and maintain thorough QA/QC on all phases of projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Professional Engineering license required.
Experience supervising a team of engineers.
Maintain technical competence by staying current on appropriate codes and technologies.
Proficient in the use of state-of-the-art tools for engineering design and documentation, including Revit.
Thorough understanding of plumbing engineering systems.
Expertise in an area of concentration, such as Datacenter, Advanced Manufacturing, Science & Technology and Healthcare.
Monitors & manages project budgets to ensure cost effective delivery.
Effective communication skills (written and oral);
Demonstrated thoroughness in design coordination and contract document development in plumbing systems for commercial and/or industrial buildings.
Demonstrated record of consistent quality work.
Able to work with little or no supervision.
Business development capabilities, commercial/financial awareness.
Demonstrated knowledge in sustainable building design.
Must have valid driver's license & a clean MVR.
Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture Engineering required.
10+ years of experience in plumbing design.
