About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to team members on a day-to-day basis
  • Support the onboarding and integration of professionals, foster their skills development, and provide performance feedback
  • Promote best practices in service-offering strategy, content development and proposal management
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between service-offering and marketing teams
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, drive innovation and improve the development of service offerings and business development activities
  • Manage workload and set team priorities based on business needs and objectives
  • Rigorously implement Stantec’s business development and service-offering process across the region
  • Collaborate with the Growth team, regional business-line leaders, sector leaders, account managers, project managers and the strategic opportunities team to develop value propositions and identify differentiators that set the firm apart
  • Leverage Stantec’s broad network to identify and highlight distinctive capabilities, expertise and resources that strengthen opportunity strategies
  • Become involved early in the business-development process to develop a comprehensive action plan
  • Support or lead preliminary “Go/No Go” and strategy assessments
  • Support business development teams in pre-bid activities
  • Develop and document opportunity-specific action plans
  • Conduct or facilitate preliminary “Go/No Go” and strategy assessments
  • Coordinate and lead ongoing reviews, Red Team reviews, fee reviews and final quality control
  • Ensure all service offers are submitted on time, are compliant and of high quality
  • Lead the management and development of service offers produced by multidisciplinary teams, meeting client deadlines and expectations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience directing efforts related to complex, large-scale opportunities and service proposals
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, with exceptional prioritization and time-management skills; compliance with bid requirements is essential
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage expectations through influence and authority
  • Strong ability to identify differentiators and integrate them coherently into proposals
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, peers and clients
  • Strong facilitation and interviewing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills for both small and large groups, with proficiency in presentation tools such as PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding of marketing and business-development best practices in the professional services sector
  • Highly self-directed, with a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency with web tools and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and CoPilot, among others
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Acrobat.
