About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute field programs for hydrologic and climatic data collection
  • Work within interdisciplinary teams to drive large-scale industrial, commercial, and municipal water-related projects forward
  • Oversee hydrometric site selection, study design, and model development
  • Steer business development by writing proposals, creating project scopes, managing budgets, and collaborating with clients and contractors
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, supporting their training and professional development
  • Ensure safe work practices are developed and adhered to, including comprehensive safety planning for each project

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highly proficient in hydrologic modeling and analysis software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and PCSWMM
  • Skilled in statistical software like R and HEC-SSP, and GIS mapping tools such as Q-GIS or ArcGIS
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical and scientific writing
  • Working knowledge of Atlantic Canadian, Ontario, and federal regulations and permitting requirements for environmental monitoring and construction projects is a bonus
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental science, with specialized training in hydrology, hydrogeology, or water resources management
  • Preference for candidates with a Master’s or Doctorate-level degree in a related field, and those licensed with Engineers NS, Geoscientists NS, APEGNB or PEGNL
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
