About the role
- Develop hydrodynamic models using tools such as MIKE 3, MIKE 21, and Telemac to support coastal and river engineering projects including design of coastal protection, nature based solutions, flooding risk analysis, design of marine infrastructure, sediment transport analysis, shoreline protection assessments, etc
- Apply a strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and PCSWMM
- Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings, and interpretations
- Support proposal development and assist in creating work plans, project schedules, and budgets, while managing assigned projects and tasks
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment
- Demonstrate a solid understanding and consistent application of industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks
- Perform primarily office-based work, involving extended periods of computer use and data analysis

- Graduate degree in Engineering with a focus on hydrodynamics, water resources, or hydrology
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory environments
- Regular use of hydrodynamic modeling tools
- Professional registration with APGNS or Engineers NS (or equivalent provincial entity) or eligibility to obtain P.Eng. or P.Geo.
