About the role
- Lead mechanical engineering and design on projects and serve as the engineer of record
- Provide QAQC services in alignment with firm Quality Process Manual
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Design Managers/Project Engineers for deliverables and Basis of Design
- Oversee load calculations, systems design, cross-discipline coordination, and signing and sealing of contract documents
- Conduct LCCA Analysis
- Mentor junior engineers and participating in in-house continuing education programs
- Coordinate with Department Head and Focus Leads for resource allocation
- Manage Construction Administration phase of a project including submittal review, RFI responses, and site visit proficiency
- Strong working knowledge of Revit, including Revit Schedules and sequences of operation
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- 10 or more years of engineering experience in industrial design and construction industry with a current Professional Engineers license in the U.S.
- LEED AP preferred
- Technical writing experience and proficiency
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proficiency in PDF tools such as Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat
- Proficiency in energy modeling using a IESVE or other current DOE-2 modelling software (ASHRAE 140 Compliant)
- Knowledge in scope definition, design schedule management, coordination with other disciplines, design document creation, and quality reviews
- Budget tracking throughout design
- RFP scope definition and resource estimation
- Perform engineering studies for highly technical clients whose details include but are not limited to phased system loading, payback analysis, and knowledge of industry trends
