About the role
- Work with general guidance and direction from a Project Architect
- Support the Project Architect by coordinating with the project team and consultants
- Attend meetings with contractors and owners
- Support multiple projects at various phases of design and construction
- Assists in the planning, organization, and directing of the work throughout the life cycle of the project
- Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models
- Experience with creating construction project documents in all Revit phases
- Assists interpreting and applying building codes
- Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases
- Participates in bidding and negotiation phases and prepares addenda
- Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs
- Prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks
- Assists in project coordination and meetings with internal and external team members
- Visit project sites with clients as necessary
- Assists in the preparation of project specifications
- Participate in constructability review
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects
- Assists in ensuring that work conforms to project budget and schedule
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Architecture or bachelor’s degree in support of licensure criteria required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Requisite knowledge and application of accessibility codes, applicable building codes
- General understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
- General knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards
- Ability to conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program
- To develop floor plans, wall sections, and details
- To check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
- To participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production
- To engage in creative and critical thought
- To hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively
- To interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material
- To communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written)
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, Sefaira and Bluebeam
