Work collaboratively with Stantec offices across Canada, USA, South America and Australia to support local and international mining projects
Engage technical team in planning, design and execution of geotechnical projects in soils and bedrock
Lead planning and completion of geotechnical site investigations including instrumentation, logging, sampling, and field testing
Lead installation, monitoring and interpretation of geotechnical instrumentation data
Lead analyses and design of complex earth and rock structures
Support mine and tailings planning groups in development and design of large mining and closure projects
Lead preparation of technical design documents, drawings, figures and models
Lead preparation of project technical proposals and provide peer/senior review of technical deliverables
Collaborate with geology, hydrogeology, water management, environmental/permitting, process design, mining, and pumping/piping disciplines
Ensure compliance with Stantec and client safety programs and Project Quality Procedures
Provide technical leadership, business awareness and project/program management understanding
Requirements
Critical and flexible thinking to provide tailored, practical solutions
Experience in some or all of core geotechnical areas of expertise (TSF, pitwall, WSF, civil foundations, closure, field investigations, instrumentation)
Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor a team of engineering professionals
Understanding of mining operations and mine waste management
Geotechnical material characterization (particularly mined materials)
