About the role

  • Serve as Stantec’s Southern New England Structural Team Lead.
  • Contribute to initiatives to help advance project design, operations, and business development.
  • Maintain and enhance reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals.
  • Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services.
  • Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader.
  • Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule.
  • Implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent.
  • Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote partnerships in project pursuits.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members through coaching and performance oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • MA Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience with bridge design and transportation project delivery
  • Experience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects
  • Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projects
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Business development experience required
  • Marketing skills required
  • Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment
  • Design-Build or other alterative project delivery experience.
