About the role

Contribute to small-scale projects and support larger initiatives under mentorship of senior engineers and designers
Perform civil design using relevant software programs
Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals to coordinate projects under direction of senior engineer/designer
Perform field work as directed by senior engineer/designer
Perform basic calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard and proprietary manufacturer software
Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity and with collecting data to support design decisions
Assist in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices
Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency and cost effectiveness
Construct models to identify project specifications and perform routing aspects of engineering assignments
Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff

Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
Understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and basic AutoCAD Civil 3D
Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently within a team
Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
Minimum 2 years of experience working on civil infrastructure projects
Working towards P.Eng designation
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
