About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Supervise and coordinate assigned Mechanical Department members
Assign and coordinate project priorities, workload planning, staffing schedules, and assignments
Monitor direct and indirect labor utilization and ensure timely completion of department resource-loading calendars
Ensure quality control of department work and adherence to organizational standards, procedures, and policies
Provide input on hiring, salaries, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations
Support staff development and recommend training and career-development opportunities
Monitor departmental financial KPIs, including utilization and project performance
Support business development and marketing activities with project managers and senior department members
Ensure department project assignments are completed on schedule and within budget
Serve as Project Manager for key department projects when applicable
Perform other functions delegated by the Group Manager
Provide technical and administrative supervision to ensure department technical, administrative, labor, and schedule targets are met

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college
10+ years of relevant facility design experience
PE required
Experience designing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, central utility plants, and mechanical distribution systems
Experience using Trane Trace, Revit, Pipe-Flo, COMcheck, and/or BLCC software
Experience performing energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis
Experience designing industrial and/or federal facilities
LEED AP BD+C credential and/or GBI Guiding Principles Compliance Professional
AEE Certified Energy Manager
AABC Certified Commissioning Authority
