About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and implement medium- to large-scale multidisciplinary engineering projects using resources from multiple office locations
  • Support business development through project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development
  • Submit documents to federal, state, and local authorities for code compliance review and obtain required permits
  • Meet with client management to resolve issues and obtain project-completion approvals
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships as part of business development efforts
  • Plan, organize, communicate, and coordinate project engagements
  • Prepare project opening orders, outlines, initiation documents, schedules, executions, and closings
  • Achieve project objectives for quality, scope, budgets, and schedules
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project records
  • Achieve engagement performance metrics, including target margins, revenue, and multiplier
  • Analyze project performance, resource utilization, profitability, margins, and revenues
  • Identify out-of-scope work and manage and negotiate contract change orders
  • Identify and manage project risk from proposal phase through project completion
  • Apply fundamental understanding of commercial elements associated with energy projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, construction management, or business from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 7+ years of increasing experience in the energy engineering industry
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
  • Experience with thermal generation projects, such as gas turbines and reciprocating engines
  • Firm understanding of financial management
  • Demonstrated success managing large multidisciplinary programs, projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • MBA preferred
  • PE preferred
  • PMI Certification preferred
