About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare material quantity take-offs from planning documents and engineering drawings
- Review quantity take-offs prepared by other estimators for accuracy and completeness
- Develop detailed cost estimates, including system and subsystem breakdowns
- Prepare complete estimate packages, including Basis of Estimate, Quantity Take-Off Backup, Cost Data Documentation, and Engineer's Estimate
- Collect, evaluate, and maintain historical cost information for future estimating efforts
- Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain current pricing and market information
- Prepare and review final Engineer's Estimates
- Apply knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and industry practices
- Collaborate with the Estimating Department to ensure projects progress efficiently and meet deadlines
- Attend internal and client meetings to coordinate estimating activities and project requirements
- Develop and review construction cost estimates for architectural, civil, industrial, institutional, federal, and utility facility projects
- Travel and work overtime occasionally based on project needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
- 0–7 years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, construction, or a related field
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Occasional travel and overtime may be required based on project needs
